In the maturation process, some of the hydrocarbons in the gas phase move away from the environment depending on time, while some are stored in the coal bearing sırata. The amount of gas stored in the çarkı, cleat sets and macro-micro pores in the coal seam is negligible due to the degree of maturation with the current pressure. During excavation in underground coal mining, the gases contained in the coal seam are directed towards the working environment due to the pressure difference. The ventilation conditions in the working environment and the gas desorbed from the coal seam pose significant risks in terms of Occupational Safety. Here, it is aimed to determine the possible degage zones by analysing the gas content of coal seams (-630m) in the preparation galleries of the Kozlu district of Turkish Hard Coal Enterprise (TTK).Currently, the depth reduction of production in TTK processing and the increase of mechanization in production, methane gas desorption in coal production boards, which is directed to the working environment due to the pressure difference, also increases safety risks and measures. In accordance with the relevant laws, regulations and regulations within the institution, 25m progress drilling is carried out at each progress stage to determine the gas content on the production boards. In the galleries to be prepared for production, drilling was carried out, şamile were taken and analysed to determine the seam gas content. A drilling machine with an ejector that can vacuum through the space inside the drilling bores was used for sampling. The biggest advantage of this equipment is that it can be sampled from the desired depth and significantly reduces the lost gas time. The results of the experiment show the possibility of a change in the coal seams of the preparatory levels. Sudden eruptions during drilling in coal seams, bore jams, high levels of methane from bore cavities during sampling and determination of gas content also help in the preliminary study phase. As a result, this study helps improve occupational health and safety standards in the mining sector with gas containing environments.
