Epidemics have an important place in shaping the history of mankind. Epidemics such as malaria, tuberculosis, syphilis, plague, cholera, leprosy caused the death of millions of people. Especially malaria is a worlwide common disease which threats the general population regardless of age and gender. It has gained a particular interest and importance in Turkey compared to other diseases from social and political aspects. This interest has been increased since the first few years of the Turkish Republic and it continued to increase until 1950. This study investigates that the malaria occurred in Turkey between the years 1923-1950, the emergences of malaria, it's distribution and measures taken by the Republic of Turkey are assessed on the basis of archival documents.
