Tennis Federation of Turkey 12. regional athletesinvestigation of the reasons and expectations for starting tennis

In this study, it was aimed to determine the reasons for the choice of dealing with the tennis sport in 11 provinces of 12. region of Turkey Tennis Federation. A survey was applied to 350 athletes between 2015 and 2016 years in 11 provinces of 12. region of Turkey Tennis Federation SPSS 17 statistical package program was used to evaluate the data obtained from the scales. Frequency, percentage and arithmetic mean distributions were calculated using the data obtained from the questionnaires. Anova and t test were used to determine the difference. As a result of this study, among the most important reasons for turning to tennis sport; At the students' level, the encouragement of the family, the effect of the mass media, the influence of the group of friends, the sports activities in the environment and the interest in tennis in the environment, the need to move and health are considered. In addition, it was seen that the income level of those engaged in tennis was middle and upper income group. Expectations from tennis; having a good physical appearance, relieving stress, relaxing, free time activity, playing games, having fun, improving performance, acquiring a new environment for students and gaining status. It was concluded that the physical competence of the facilities for starting tennis sports, providing more monitoring opportunities for people in expert trainers, press and broadcasting, supporting successful athletes with sponsorships, increasing the level of income of one person from the parents, and also increasing their income.
