E-transformation of commerce in Turkey: E-commerce for small businesses and entrepreneurs

Abstract (EN)

The importance of online shopping and e-commerce in the world and in Turkey in recent years has become more important with the increasing use of the Internet. In this thesis study; The subject of e-commerce has been examined from the perspective of small businesses and entrepreneurs. The thesis consists of three chapters. In the first part, mentioning the conceptual framework related to e-commerce; Ttypes of e-commerce, e-commerce elements that make up the ecosystem, the situation of e-commerce in Turkey and in the world, the legal infrastructure of e-commerce in Turkey, in terms of future technological developments in e-commerce titles are examined. In the second part of the thesis, the subject is discussed in terms of small enterprises and entrepreneurs, the transition process to e-commerce, the problems and advantages encountered, the Business Plan and its importance for success in e-commerce are examined. In the third part, which is the application part of the thesis, it is aimed to develop a Business Plan format customized for e-commerce companies and to prepare sample calculation tables to be used in the financial planning department, which small-scale enterprises and entrepreneurs can initially use in e-commerce. For this purpose, the 2019 version of the Business Plan format used by KOSGEB within the scope of New Entrepreneur Support and developed continuously during the usage process is taken as reference. Without changing the Business Plan structure, in each section revisions were made in the required subtitles or questions, not needed sections for e-commerce were removed and a new business plan format was created by adding the required sections and questions. The final "E-Commerce Business Plan" format has been prepared specifically to be a roadmap for small-scale businesses and entrepreneurs in e-commerce activities.
