The effect of post 1980 economy policy carried out in Turkey on relationship between powerty-violence

Poverty and violence is a sophisticated problem which has economic, social and psychological dimensions. Poverty and violence has been accepted as an undesirable situation and tried to be prevented by majority of the society and the social institutions and it has always existed through the human history and has increasingly continued.When it is analyzed in Turkey, it is determined that poverty and violence are directly proportional with household extent, population growth and immigrations; but inversely proportional with education and level of income.Particularly, after 1980s, the neoliberal policy which forms the dynamics of globalization process has caused the proliferation, deepening and becoming chronic of poverty and violence in an international dimension. By this process, inequalities has increased, employment has become permanent, public expenditures has been restricted, unfair distribution of income has increased both in the country and outside the country, and poverty and violence has become an increasingly continued problem.In this research, presenting the relationship between poverty and violence, the effects of neoliberal policy on both economic and social areas has been analyzed.While forming this research, having review of literature, the data about this subject has been collected. Collecting the books, journals and information from internet the conceptual framework of the research has been formed and the related subjects have been analyzed in details. Formal statistics has been used in order to objectify the subjects presented in conceptual framework. Trying to explain the relationship between poverty and violence, the socio-economic effects of neoliberal policy on this relationship has been presented and finally various solution offers has been presented.
