Abstract (EN)
The rapidly increasing urban population in Turkey introduces along with its self the urbanization issue in increasing scales. As a solution to this problem, structures with more storey are being constructed. As the intention is not only to fulfill the building deficits by building structures, it must provide the most ideal functionality, style, aesthetics and economy. The task to coordinate such complicated processes shall be the architecture?s duty who determines the fundamentals and the main principles of the design. In our contemporary time in Turkey the most common functionality of multi-storied structures is the housing, and most intensively used technology in the housing sector is the shear-wall systems. In the settlement areas such as Or-An, Konutkent, Yaşamkent; which can be considered solely as small cities; shear-wall systems are used as the structural system of the multi-storied buildings and for their production tunnel form method is used.It is necessary that designers know the facilities and the restrictions of this widely common technology in mass housing productions. Therefore in this study general information is provided about the multi-storied structures. Concrete shear-wall system, which is one of the structure systems, is handled in more details; and classification of concrete shear-walls and the behaviors of all systems are examined according to the rules given in Turkish Earthquake Regulation 2007. Subsequently, tunnel form system; which is one of the application methods of shear-wall systems, and the benefits of it are mentioned. In the example application a housing structure formed up by the sheer-wall system and in which tunnel form system is used; is handled, and models with different numbers of storey are established, and costs are compared. During the city planning, as there can be city block parcel applications and applications based on region; cost calculations are considered to enlighten these two subjects. The effects of concrete and soil classes are examined in the models and in the costs per an apartment flat. As a result, it is believed that the analysis which is done will constitute a significant decision criterion.
