Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, it has been tried to reveal how the television series with war content broadcast in Turkey after the July 15 Coup Attempt had an effect on secondary school students. The emergence of Turkish TV series about war actually dates back to earlier times, but has increased since the July 15 Coup Attempt. It was assumed that these series mostly affected secondary school students in adolescence, and the study was shaped accordingly. İn the first three chapters of the study, the relationship between the concepts of war and media is explained theoretically. In the next section, the series that make up the universe of the research are introduced. In the last part, the research data were analyzed and presented in tables. The research was carried out with 310 students studying in secondary education institutions in Trabzon in the first semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. With the prepared scale, it was examined how the war-themed television series were perceived by the secondary school students and whether they had an effect on the students. After the research, it was concluded that the war-themed TV series especially affected the adolescents whose personalities were not fully established.
