Abstract (EN)

Halyomorpha halys (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), is a polyphagous and invasive pest that originates in the Far East (China, Japan, Taiwan and Korea), causes significant damage to agricultural production and can feed on approximately 300 plant species. This pest, which has attracted attention in recent years, was first observed in Istanbul in 2017 in Turkey and caused its main damage in the Kemalpaşa district of Artvin province. The pest spreads in different regions of Turkey, especially in the Black Sea and Marmara Regions. While the pest has many hosts, hazelnut plant has an important place among them. Hazelnut is among the important agricultural products that are produced and traded throughout the world. Turkey is in the top rank in the world hazelnut production and export. In this study, the effectiveness of currently used licensed insecticides against the adults of H. halys, an important hazelnut pest, was evaluated. In the study, the insecticidal activity of 3 different application doses of 5 active substances (Acetamiprid, Deltamethrin, Alpha Cypermethrin, Chlorantroniliprole and Gamma-cyhalothrin) on the pest was followed during the 10-day application period. In the study: 2.5, 1.25 and 0.625 ml/5 lt water doses of Acetamiprid; 1, 0.5 and 0.25 ml/5 lt water doses of Alpha Cypermethrin; 3, 1.5 and 0.75 ml/ 5lt water doses of Chlorantraniliprole; 3, 1.5 and 0.75 ml/5 lt water doses of Deltamethrine; and 3.75, 1.875 and 0.9375 ml/5 lt water doses of Gamma-cyhalothrin were investigated to H. halys adult individuals under laboratory conditions. As a result of the study, full doses of Deltamethrine, Alpha Cypermethrin and Gamma-cyhalothrin showed very high insecticidal efficacy on the pest (96%, 94% and 92%). When the mortality rates on the pest are compared; These three active ingredients are followed by, Chlorantraniliprole and Acetamiprid, respectively. At the end of the study, it was determined that Deltamethrine, Alpha Cypermethrin and Gamma-cyhalothrin showed high insecticidal effects on H. halys and it was determined that these products have a very promising appearance in the control of hazelnut pests.
