Abstract (EN)

Poverty, which is condition of not having enough sources too meet needs of people, has become a global problem all around the world in concurrence with acceleration of globalization. But there are not enough studies in literature about political behaviour, participation and perception of poor people.Main aim of this study is how poverty culture in Turkey affects political behaviors and political participation. In this context, these are the main questions to be answered;1)What is poverty and poverty culture?2)How is the perspective of poverty in Turkey?3)What are the factors of political behaviors and political perceptions?4)What kinds of political behavior and perception poor people of Serdivan have?While questions are answered; besides literature survey, descriptive method and questionnaire of field research are used. This method is based on two reasons. First one is how general poverty culture features are associated with Turkish povert culture. Second one is the idea how poverty culture affects political perception of poor people is explained properly by questionnaire.As a conclusion of study, apart from indifference to outside and exclusion, general poverty and povert culture features are available in sample group. Moreover, subject culture is dominant in this group. It is found out that main foundation in political behavior and participation is mass communication. Finally, while main audience activities are seen intensively in political participation, transition activities are seen less. Gladiator activities aren?t seen in sample group.
