Abstract (EN)
The present study aims to determine the lodge-specific belongings (cihaz-ı tarikat) of the cults which are common in the Anatolian and Balkan geography and known as turuk-ı aliyye (the most common cults) such as Naqshibendi, Qâdirî,Mevleviyeh, Bayramiyya, Badaviyah, Sadi, Shadhiliyya, Zeyniyah, Rfaiyyah, Jalwatiyya and Halwatiyya; and to reveal the importance of these things in the history of Islamic philosophy. There are two main issues that we have considered here. The first point is to determine which cult uses which belongings. The second point is to ascertain the place and importance of the symbolic meanings imposed on these religious things in the life of the Sufis. The study was designed in accordance with the document analysis design of the qualitative research methods. To attain the targets of the study, the theoretical basis of the subject is formed from the manuscripts and articles. The text of the study is created by classifying the information about the cults called as turuk-ı aliyye within the framework of the steps of the document analysis method to reach documents, check originality, comprehend documents and analyse data. Besides, a research was carried out about the cemetery, shrine and museum in Denizli, Aydın, İzmir, Manisa, Bursa, Bilecik, Istanbul, Edirne, Bolu, Karabük, Kastamonu, Samsun, Amasya, Tokat and Konya cities, and Bosnia-Herzegovina; and information was supported through theoretical and visual documents related to the subject. The most crucial result of the study is that Sufis attribute a nonvisible meaning to the things used in the lodges rather than their actual meanings and use them as a means of spiritual education. It was also found that symbolism is indispensable in human life and the continuation of religions can only be possible with symbolic expression. The findings showed that the main purpose of practices made by the Sufis for moral and ethics was to provide moral superior features and achieve monotheism. One of the results of this study is the presence of Sufi personalities and different types of imamahs (tac) waiting to be detected in historical cemeteries that do not appear in written sources. One of the results of this study is that it provides information about the possibility of the function of the things used in lodges in the past and how it should be in today's world. Keywords: Turuk-ı Aliyye (The most common cults), Cihâz-ı Tarîkat (Lodge-specific belongings), Rules-Conventions, Islamic mysticism and Symbolism
