Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to determine the damage status, prevalence and population development of the Citrus rust mite Phyllocoptruta oleivora Ashmead (Acari: Eriophyidae) on different citrus species in citrus growing areas in Adana province from 2019 to 2021. The studies were carried out as both periodic and non-periodic field surveys. Non-periodic surveys were conducted in main citrus producing areas of Adana. Studies on population development were carried out in grower conditions on lemon, orange, mandarin and grapefruit, in Yüreğir between 2019 and 2020, and on lemon, orange and mandarin species, that received restricted spraying between 2020 and 2021. Phyllocoptruta oleivora was found in different densities in 27% of the samples sampled from 133 different locations in Adana without citrus species differentiation. Phyllocoptruta oleivora was first observed between the end of May and the beginning of June in the orchards where the population development of the pest was studied. In the case of spraying, this period was delayed by one month and it was determined that the pest reached its peak in July - August. Phyllocoptruta oleivora density was mainly affected by the host plant species, and the pest population density determined on lemon (leaf and fruit) was higher than other species in the study conducted in two different areas.
