TÜRUSAV (Turkey-Russia-Europe) energy equation: The effect of Russia-Turkey energy relations on EU energy security

The element of energy determines the political, political and economic status of states in international relations with an increasing momentum day by day. The energy needs of growing economies are increasing more and more in order to sustain their progress and development. In particular, the environmental damage and depletion of fossil fuels is on the agenda, which raises the value of the energy element. The problem with fossil fuels points to sustainable and renewable energy sources. For all these reasons, the energy element has become an important factor for the regional and global power centers to maintain their existence. Countries that hold the wealth of energy resources, petroleum and natural gas can use this power as an element of pressure in the economic and political arena. Russia, which is strong in terms of energy resources, is one of the countries that uses this power most actively in the political and economic framework. The relations between Turkey and Russia at the level of multi-dimensional partnership continue to progress with the energy element, which is one of the requirements of being a strong and competitive economy. Russia, the largest gas producer in the world, wants to transfer gas to Europe, which is the largest gas market in the world. In this context, Turkey is an important actor in the emerging equation. It wants to be a part of this equation formed in Turkey. Turkey aims to transfer the energy resources coming from the countries of the region where oil and natural gas is located and Russia to Europe in a way that will be included in the system. In this context, Turkey has managed to take part in the projects that have been implemented. However, this success was not enough to make Turkey a strong energy actor. Turkey cannot fully utilize its existing energy resources. In addition, the uncertainty of the boron mine and the inadequacy of the production of renewable energy have led Turkey to move forward by evaluating its geopolitical position. Turkey has maintained a key position in some of the projects it plans to become an actor in. Unfortunately, it has not been able to become the actor of some projects because the states of the region aim to reach a solution within themselves. TÜRUSAV (Turkey – Russia – Europe) energy equation; Turkey's access to a competitive economy can be achieved by being an actor in the energy element. The Eurasian Union is seen as an important element in shaping the developing relations with Russia in the energy relations between Russia and Turkey. Developing relations will not only make Turkey the answer to the unknown of the European equation, but also increase Turkey's political and economic opportunities.
