The comprasion of tobacco tired and humanity novels in the context of poverty theme

Comparative Literature is a science in which two works of the same country or works of two different countries are compared to find similar or different aspects. The purpose of this science is to show the effects of different or similar aspects in terms of traditions even if the written pieces belong to civilization far from each other. The existence of literature can be considered same as the history of mankind. Literature which expressed the phenomena of the living kept existing even in different lands. When we consider the similarities of experiences of people, Comparative Literature becomes more important. Poverty has been a significant concern that has been experienced everywhere since the beginning of history. Poverty resulted in changes and obligations in people`s lives. On this ground, literature which focused on people`s lives worked on this term to a great extend. Poverty has come into being in different forms according to the geography and culture. In this study, we will analyze Tutun Yorgunu by Talip Aydin, a socialist and realist Turkish author, and Poor Folk by Fyodor Dostoyevski, one of the prominent Russian authors, in terms of poverty. The echos of poverty in two different cultural circles will take place and the similarities or differences in reflection of this phenomena will be stated.
