Abstract (EN)

The aim of the study is to reveal the volume and mass of the legs based on certain anthropometric measurements and to investigate the relationship between the resulting volume and other parameters with anaerobic performance and shooting performance. A total of 22 male Yozgatspor youth football players aged between 13 and 14 voluntarily participated in the study. The athletes' height, weight, body mass index, leg volume, leg mass, 30-meter sprint, vertical jump, and shooting performance were assessed using a shooting performance test. The SPSS package program was used for the analysis of the data obtained in the study. Results of Pearson Product Moment Correlation analyses indicated significant relationships were found between the performance variables obtained from 13-14 age group football players and body composition, circumference length, skinfold thickness, leg volume, and mass in the research findings; however, no significant relationships were found with shooting performance. As a result, it has been found that anaerobic performance, which is an important component of sports performance, can be improved with an increase in leg muscle strength, and an increase in leg volume and leg mass results in an increase in leg muscle strength. According to the findings of our study, it has been revealed that there is a positive relationship between anaerobic performance and body composition, circumference length, skinfold thickness, leg volume, and mass. However, shooting performance has not been positively influenced by these variables.
