Parallel to the development of technology, while current life standards and forms develop in the same direction, computer systems, which have become an indispensable part of human beings, have an impact on artistic understandings and production techniques as well as industrial production methods. The mechanization that developed with the Industrial Revolution, which left its mark on the 18th century, led to different trends in art production methods. In addition to traditional methods in production, while systems based on mass production appear, they have also started to be effective in the ceramic art. Ceramic artists have turned their face to new shaping and decoration methods brought by technology. In this context, the possibilities of technology increase the design alternatives while improving the perceptions and perspectives of the artist and designer. For this reason, utilizing technology contributes to both the creation process and the works of artists, thus being effective in making their works more authentic. The fact that three-dimensional scanners and printers started to attract attention in today's ceramic production, has brought a technological side to ceramic art. Thus, it was possible for human to transfer the textures that cannot be obtained by hand shaping to the computer environment, to design and put them into production on the screen. In this sense, the studies carried out in the digital environment for the last ten years have provided different trends in the art of ceramics. In this thesis, research on three-dimensional scanners and scanning methods, working principles and applications that deal with the use of these scanners in the art of ceramics with three-dimensional printers have been mentioned. During the application phase, the hand-built forms were transferred to digital media with different three-dimensional scanners and scanning methods, and after being re-modeled in the computer environment, they were created by printing them out from the three-dimensional printer. Thus, the aim of this study is to create an artistic understanding by discussing the use and impact of today's digital tools such as 3D scanner and printer in ceramic art, starting from computer aided design. This unique language, obtained by synthesizing manual shaping, digital design and computer aided shaping methods, play an effective role in creating works with new suggestions. In applications made based on technological orientations, it is aimed that the methods and results will give different expressions to ceramic forms and will be a guide and incentive for the later works of ceramic artists.
