Abstract (EN)
The uses of inductive loads in the industry have increased day by day. These loads draw reactive power from the line. The system providing reactive power required for inductive loads called as compensation system. Compensation systems allow the power generation system to operate at full capacity and to produce inexpensive energy. In this study, a reactive power compensation system consists of 4 induction motors which have different operating procedures has been implemented by means of the programmable logic controller (PLC). PLC can run or stop the induction motors in the system.Current and the voltage belong to the system are also measured and then processed in the PLC to calculate the power factor of the system. After that, required reactive power to keep the power factor is provided from switching the capacitor groups automatically by means of the developed software. In addition, the developed system can protect the induction motors against possible problems such as the control of phase sequence of the motor, over current, high voltage and low voltage.Owing to the computer interface improved, starting and stopping the motor and the parameters belong to all system can be achieved monitored with remotely a computer. Thanks to this, the control and the monitoring of the system can be done remotely.
