Abstract (EN)
In this study, during the maintenance operations of aircraft between the flights and hangars; the design and prototype production of a device which enables lightning and hail-induced structural damage control operations to be performed in a shorter time and with lower cost was realized. The structural damage detection of aircraft is images taken by cameras carried by a quadrant or by NDT equipment hold on to the airframe with vacuumed feet are generally used. Unlike other methods, mobile imaging devices are designed and manufactured that hold by propeller thrust on damaged surface. The developed device can send the received images wirelessly to the ground computer. Developed prototype within the scope of the study, can climb to different slope on aircraft surfaces by the two edf motors. The device which is holded to the surface can move by the electric motors. The device developed within the scope of the study is able to hold onto the surfaces of different slopes on the aircraft thanks to the impulse generated by two circular channel fan motors. The device can move on the surface with electric motors. The system is powered by an electric motor from the ground. The developed device is equipped with 2 motors capable of delivering a total of 10 kg of thrust. The device has a built-in digital camera that records 720p video. The images taken with the camera can be transferred to the ground computer via wifi. The device has a 2-axis handle for marking for the location of detected structural damages. Within the scope of the study, firstly, system design was determined by the system engineering in order to meet the needs of Turkish Technic. In the next stage, mechanical and electronic designs of the system have been made and software installations have been made and prototype production has been realized. In order to validate and validate the design, the device was moved on perpendicular and parallel surfaces to ground and its usability in detecting defects on aircraft surfaces was evaluated.
