Abstract (EN)

In this study, the performance of fly ash and soil mixtures activated with alkali activators was investigated in terms of strength and durability. In the first phase of the study, three different mono-objective optimization scenarios were implemented using the Response Surface Method. These were: maximizing unconfined compressive strength, minimizing carbon footprint, and preparing mixtures with the lowest cost. A multi-objective optimization process was also conducted within the scope of the study, in which all scenarios were optimized simultaneously. Unconfined compressive strength, freezing-thawing, wetting-drying, and soaking tests were conducted on the prepared mixtures. As a result of the experimental studies, the strength and durability values of the mixtures prepared according to the mono and multi-objective optimizations were compared with each other and against relevant standards. In the light of the obtained data, it was concluded that the optimization approach aiming to maximize the unconfined compressive value yielded more effective results.
