A comparison of traumatic birth perceptions of pregnant women diagnosed with premature birth threat in the third trimester and pregnant women who lived A HEALTHY process

In this study, it was aimed to comparison of traumatic birth perceptions of pregnant women diagnosed with premature birth threat in the third trimester and pregnant women who lived a healthy process. In this descriptive, comparative study, 78 pregnant women who were diagnosed with preterm birth threat in the third trimester and 78 pregnant women who had a normal pregnancy process, a total of 156 pregnant women, were studied in the Amasya Sabuncuoğlu Şerefeddin Training and Research Hospital Gynecology Service and Obstetrics Clinic located in the city center of Amasya. The research data were collected by using the "Detaıled Informatıon Form and the Traumatic Birth Perception Scale (TCAS)" after the necessary permissions were obtained. The data obtained in the research were evaluated in computer environment using licensed GOP IBMM permission. In the study, the mean TDAS score of the pregnant women with a gestational week of 32.42±2.05 and diagnosed with EDT was 92.74±28.20, while the mean TDAS score of the pregnant women with a gestational week of 38.58±0.96 and a normal pregnancy was determined as 38.24±25.83. A statistically significant difference was found between the two groups when the mean TDAS score of the pregnant women who were diagnosed with EDT in the third trimester and had a normal pregnancy were examined in terms of education and age (p<0.05). When the number of pregnancies, the number of births and the number of children of the pregnant women who were diagnosed with EDT in the third trimester and had a normal pregnancy were examined, no statistically significant difference was found between the two groups (p>0.05). The traumatic birth perception level of the pregnant women who were diagnosed with EDT in the 3rd trimester and had a normal pregnancy, and the level of traumatic birth perception of those with preterm birth risk (92.74±28.20) was significantly higher than the traumatic birth perception level of those in the normal delivery group (8.24±25.83) (p<0.05). According to the results of the research, it was determined that the level of perception of traumatic birth was higher in pregnant women diagnosed with EDT. It is recommended that the study be repeated as multicenter in samples with wider age groups and different demographic and socio-cultural structures.
