Abstract (EN)
This research was conducted to determine the morphological and chemical characteristics of nettle species (Urtica urens L., Urtica pilulifera L.) collected from different locations in our country and grown in Samsun. The research was conducted with 6 genotypes in U. pilulifera species with 3 replications in 2018, and 6 genotypes in U. pilulifera species with 4 replications in 2019; In 2019, 3 genotypes were conducted in U. urens species with 3 replications. When an evaluation is made taking into account all the characters examined in the research; In U. pilulifera species, plant height is 107.7-117.0 cm, main stem thickness is 5.36-9.66 mm, number of branches per plant is 5.46-11.08, leaf length is 2.16-4.22 cm, leaf width is 1.22-3.02 cm, number of leaf teeth is 17.65-25.70, leaf number of feathers 11.36-76.15 pieces, number of spheroid spikes 59.42-155.20 pieces/plant, root length 9.98-18.53 cm, spheroid spike yield 0.97-9.50 g/plant, thousand grain weight is 1.53-1.96 g, seed yield is 16.15-132.53 kg/da, drug herb yield is 6.56-21.34 g/plant, root yield is 0.40-1.33 g/plant and dry matter ratio is 92.05-92.57%, crude oil ratio in the seed is 24.16-28.79%, crude protein ratio in the seed is 22.77-26.70%, crude protein ratio in the middle leaf is 9.51-13.88%, the determination of cannabidiol varied between 0.40-0.70%. In U. urens species, plant height is 35.71-45.00 cm, main stem thickness is 3.04-7.52 mm, number of branches per plant is 12.51-14.22, leaf length is 2.45-5.43 cm, leaf width is 1.67-3.51 cm, number of leaf teeth is 22.53-26.87, leaf number of feathers is 25.20-61.30 pieces, root length is 9.75-22.42 cm, thousand grain weight is 0.43-0.46 g, seed yield is 7.10-23.08 kg/da, drug herb yield is 1.13-22.38 g/plant, root yield is 0.26-1.47 g/plant and dry matter ratio is 92.16-92.83%, the crude oil ratio in the seed is between 22.69-29.96%, the crude protein ratio in the seed is 19.86-22.24%, crude protein ratio in the middle leaf is 11.35-24.83%, the determination of cannabidiol varied between 0.43-0.70%. When evaluated in terms of fatty acid composition; It was determined that the ratio of linoleic acid in both species was higher than the ratios of other fatty acids. As a result of the research, it was concluded that U. pilulifera and U. urens species can be used as genetic resources in the development of qualified nettle varieties due to their special morphological and chemical properties.
