Abstract (EN)

It is aimed to determine the Equilibrium Moisture Content of the most commonly used wood materials according to the geographical climate zones in Turkey. 9 different provinces were selected to cover 7 different geographical climate zones in our country and 6 different wood species, most preferred in the wood sector in our country were evaluated in the experiment. The samples were delivered in the selected provinces in 4 different seasons lasting 1 year and 1 month after each group was delivered as airtight the samples were packed and brought to Kastamonu University Faculty of Forestry Laboratory for equilibrium moisture content determination. Equilibrium moisture content was determined in accordance with the standards. The equilibrium moisture content of the samples were evaluated with two separate results as indoor and rain-free outdoor. As a result, when all climate zones were considered and all tree species were considered, the equilibrium moisture content inside the building was found between 11.5 - 5.9%, different for tree species, and outside the building; 12.4 - 7.3%. The results show differences according to climate zones and tree species.
