Long non-coding RNA (LNCRNA) polymorphims associated with ulcerative colitis and autoimmunity

Background and Aims: lncRNA polymorphims is a risk factor for the development of Ulcerative colitis (UC). In this study, we aim to investigate diagnostic and prognostic lncRNA polymorphims as a marker in UC patients. Method: A total of 110 people, including 55 UC and 55 control groups, were included in the study. Fresh peripheral blood samples of the cases were taken. SNPs in blood samples taken from the cases were analyzed by Fluidigm SNPType method. Result: ANRIL (rs10757278, rs1333048), IFG-AS1 (rs1558744, rs 7134599), LINC01430 (rs6017342), LOC101926945 (rs561722) polymorphisms were studied in our study. As a result of the statistical analysis, no significant results were found in terms of the location, extent, and duration of the polymorphisms of ANRIL (rs10757278, rs1333048), IFG-AS1 (rs 7134599), LINC01430 (rs6017342), LOC101926945 (rs561722) in patients with ulcerative colitis. IFG-AS1 (rs1558744) polymorphism was found to be a significant result in patients with ulcerative colitis compared to the control group. However, the rs1558744 polymorphism was not found to be significant in patients with ulcerative colitis in terms of the location, extent and duration of the disease. Conclusion: There was no significant result that ANRIL (rs10757278, rs1333048), IFG-AS1 (rs 7134599), LINC01430 (rs6017342) and LOC101926945 (rs561722) polymorphisms could be used as diagnostic and prognostic markers in the pathogenesis of ulcerative colitis. IFG-AS1 (rs1558744) polymorphism was statistically significant in patients with ulcerative colitis. However, we think that further studies with more people are needed for this subject.
