Abstract (EN)

Levels of erytrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein(CRP), hemoglobin (hb), white blood cell count (WBC), neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) which has been seen at the time of diagnosis, 3th month during the routine follow up in ulcerative colitis patients were recorded retrospectively. We aimed to show the progress of the disease with the initiation of treatment at the tim of first admission to the hospital and the relationship of the disease with the inflammatory markers. Patients were divided into three groups as remission, stable and progression according to their cystican and endoscopic findings. A total of 199 (85 female) patients were included in the study. The patients received 5-ASA, immunomodulator, anti-tumor necrosis factor therapy (anti-TNF) and systemic steroid. We have determined the patients to undergo surgery. Results of bone densitometry were performed for patients registered in the hospital system. In 113 patients with remission, thevalues of admission were compared with the values in the 3rd month of treatment. Neutrophil count ,platelet count , NLR and PLRv alues were related to prognosis(p <0.001,p = 0.001, p<0.001,p<0.027). Similarly,ESR and CRP values were also associated with prognosis (p = 0.015, p <0.001). In 22 patients with disease progression, thevalues of admission were compared with the values of the 3rd month of treatment. Neutrophil count and platelet count were correlated with prognosis (p = 0.037, p = 0.010). Similarly, it was associated with prognosis in ESR (p = 0.036). The time of diagnos is and the level of inflammatory markers in the early stages of the ulserative colitis patients are helpful in predicting the course of the disease. However, a threshold value could not be calculated due to in sufficient number of patients. We must do more comprehensive and prospective studies for the future.
