The focus of this study is to examine the disadvantages of external dependence related to the internet and web development and to offer some solutions on this matter. The Internet is a network without domestic boundaries. Devices can communicate and interact with each other within seconds even though data sources are miles away. This feature of the Internet has paved the way for the formation of global platforms. Especially with the social media concept that has entered our lives in recent years, domestic platforms have weakened against global platforms and monopolization has gained momentum. In addition to this development, the rates of the internet usage by people are also increasing day by day. Internet users, who were completely receivers in Web 1.0, have become individuals who can contribute to the internet by the implementation of Web 2.0. Users, who can produce their own content by the spread of Web 2.0 over the network, has played an important role in the considerable power gained by the Internet. The monopolization process of global platforms has stood out in social media platforms and it is also increasing its influence in the Internet software sector gradually. In the thesis, the topic of external dependence related to the Internet was assessed through examining the development processes of the Internet software technologies. The phases of the websites were examined, and meanwhile, the statistics of being domestic and external dependence were compared with the data obtained. Website builder systems increasing their share in the software sector were introduced and utilization rates of the global platforms that made up these systems were determined. As the software sector, which the countries see as strategic investment, has become dependent on foreign countries, the probable negativities of national security and economy was evaluated.
