Abstract (EN)

National wealth funds represent a growing pool of savings. The majority of these funds belong to natural resource-exporting countries and are established to achieve various goals, including intergenerational equity and macroeconomic stability. Funds, which are observed to increase in size and number every year and especially after the 2000s, traditionally consist of oil export revenues, high foreign exchange reserves and current account surpluses obtained by countries, invest in foreign assets, especially securities traded in major markets. However, the persistent infrastructure financing gap in developing countries encourages national wealth funds to invest domestically by some governments. In the present thesis, we aimed to analyze Türkiye wealth fund, about which there are a limited number of studies in the literature. Moreover, we compared Türkiye wealth fund with those established in other experienced contries, such as Norway, Singapore, Azerbaijan and Botswana.
