The effect of digital transformation of international sea transportation enterprises on information technology efficiency

Maritime transport is a sector at the center of global trade, characterized by diverse stakeholders and complex business processes. Businesses in the sector operate in an uncertain and dynamic environment due to factors such as unpredictability of market conditions, increasing demands of service users, complex changes in the regulatory framework and rapidly evolving technologies. Under these challenging conditions, businesses need to constantly update their business development strategies in order to achieve a competitive market position and operate sustainably. However, traditional methods are insufficient to meet the ever-changing needs. In recent years, the emergence of digital Technologies has led to a significant paradigm shift in the way maritime operations are conducted, which has encouraged the integration of advanced information technology solutions to provide a strategic response to the challenges in the sector. The incorporation of digital solutions into various aspects of maritime business operations makes it possible to manage operational processes efficiently and increase the work efficiency of employess. In this context, the relationship between digital transformation and information technology efficiency in maritime businesses operating in the Marmara Region was examined within the framework of dynamic capabilities theory. The research findings Show that there is a positive relationship between digital transformation and information technology efficiency. In addition, the findings indicate that effective implementation of digital transformation strategies in the sector can increase information technology efficiency and provide an important basis for determining strategic directions for maritime businesses.
