Abstract (EN)
Forced migration is a multifaceted and complex experience that can be understood through interdisciplinary studies in terms of its causes and effects. In studies on forced migration, refugees are handled in different ways by various disciplines and are subjected to various classifications. In this study, conditional refugees are evaluated in terms of forced migration and the theoretical approaches on forced migration are included in this evaluation. In order to understand and interpret the experiences of refugees, analysing migration processes in terms of the emotions felt brings an important perspective to migration studies. Within the scope of this study, the experience of forced migration is addressed from a sociological perspective and the focus is on the emotions that refugees who have been forced to migrate to Turkey feel and make sense of their reality together with their experiences and strategies to cope with the difficulties they face. The aim of this study is to explore and understand the emotions and experiences of conditional refugees in Turkey by addressing migration studies together with sociology of emotions approaches. Within the scope of the research, in-depth interviews were conducted with 24 conditional refugees who were forced to migrate to Turkey and the data obtained were analysed by qualitative analysis method. Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis was used as the research design and recurring themes and sub-themes related to them were created using in the analysed data. From the data obtained, the following sub-themes emerged: Experiences Before Forced Migration; Journey Experience; Living in Turkey; Nostalgia. In the sub-themes and the emotions that emerged, due to the dynamic structure of emotions, many emotions ranging from fear to happiness; from hope to despair; from relief to uncertainty; from longing to resilience emerged. In the Conclusion and Discussion section, links were established between the data obtained and the focussed literature and a discussion was continued to understand and explain the subject in this context.
