Abstract (EN)

The aim of this work is to evaluate the domestic regulations specified for pregnant and mother workers, which had been changed through the time according to conventions ratified by States and international court decisions. Maternity leave, breastfeeding leave and other leaves provided by laws are explained. Sweden model on maternity leave and parental leave is examined on the subject of women participating in work force and sharing the responsibilty of home and child care. In addition to that, maternal social funds and social insurance regulations in Turkish Social Security Law also exist within the structure of this thesis.
