Rules of engagement at international law: Turkey's downing a Russian warplane

According to Rules of Engagement at the International Law notice documents, in a case of violation of aerial domain via another country's platform, the state declaring the rules of engagement has the right to intervene in the platform via defining it as "as-saulter" in the violated area. As a sample, it is legal for a state to intervene in a warplane which enters into the state's aerial space without permission within the framework of the rules of engagement declared by the estate. One of the most concrete examples of this case is the shutting down of a Russian SU-24 warplane by Turkey on 24 November 2015 within rules of engagement. It is a well-known fact that this shutting case brought Turkish-Russian relations to a halt. Although the two pilots jumped out after shutting down, one of them was captured "dead". In the content of our dissertation, the rules of engagement, legal dimensions of shutting down a warplane, right of self-defense, use of force, exceptions of using of force and legality of Turkey's downing a Russian warplane will be extensively investigated.
