Investigation of the nutrition habits and social anxiety of elite wrestlers recognized in international competitions

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the nutritional habits and social anxiety levels of elite wrestlers who has been degreed in international competitions. A total of 50 male wrestlers (mean age 25.36, average height 176.24, average weight 85.3) between the ages of 19-32 participated in the study voluntarily. The study was carried out using the quantitative research method, which is the research method in which observations and measurement methods can be repeated and carried out through numerical research. The scales used in the research are the Attitude Scale for Healthy Nutrition and Social Appearance Anxiety Scale. While evaluating the findings obtained in the study, SPSS 21.0 pacage progman was used for statistical analysis. Frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation methods were used to evaluate the study data. Results were evaluated at .05 significance level. According to the breakfast status of the participants, 36 people Yes, 14 people were sometimes distributed as. According to the educational status of the participants, they were distributed as 28 People University, 17 People High School, 5 People (Secondary School. It was determined that the opinions expressed by the participants on the healthy eating scale and the social appearance anxiety scale did not differ according to their age (P> 0.05). It was determined that the opinions of the participants on the healthy eating scale and the social appearance anxiety scale did not differ according to their weight (P> 0.05). It was determined that the opinions expressed by the participants on the healthy eating scale and the social appearance anxiety scale did not differ according to their height (P> 0.05). It was determined that the opinions expressed by the participants on the healthy eating scale and the social appearance anxiety scale did not differ according to their breakfast habits (P> 0.05). According to the difference analysis of the opinions of the participants on the healthy nutrition scale and the social appearance anxiety scale, the level of knowledge of the wrestlers who are university graduates about nutrition is higher than those of the high school and middle school graduates. According to the correlation analysis of the healthy diet levels and social anxiety levels of the participants, there was a positive and moderate relationship between social anxiety levels and malnutrition. As a result; As the education level of wrestlers increases, their nutritional knowledge increases, elite level wrestlers generally do not skip meals, and when the correlation analysis between healthy nutrition and social anxiety levels is examined, it was found that the level of anxiety increases as the diet of wrestlers deteriorates.
