Analyzing the tennis courts that held international tennis events about sustainability enviroment

The purpose of this study is to analyze the sustainability environment of tennis courts which were built to host mega sports events or important international tennis tournamets, starting with 2005 Universiade Izmir, and the conditions of the courts after hosting important international tennis tournaments. The tennis courts were examined in terms of sustainable facility heritage by looking at the iractive use after the organizations that were constructed and organized in accordance with the influence of sports and regreation areas on sustainable environment. In this study, qualitative research method was prefered and seven different tennis courts in seven different cities which were built between 2005-2017 and those tennis courts that hosted important international tennis events were subjected for this research. Researcher investigated the building time of those courts and documents of the organizations while hosting them, and the collected documents and outputs by the responsible person for organized international tournaments of Turkish Tennis Federation (TTF), Branch Office of Open Facilities regarding Ministry of Youthand Sports, responsible person and coach in those tennis courts in the years examined. The relation between the courts that hosted international tennis tournaments and sustainability environment were evaluated via document analysis which is one of the qualitative research echniques. As a result, some of these courts were found not to be acceptable for sustainability environment for couple of years. Fully or some part of the facilites were inactive and neglected regarding influence of sports and regreation areas, and furthermore, some of them were built on inactive land that is acceptable for sustainability enviroment on influence of sports and regreation areas which were tremendously used in an active way and therefore these courts provide sustainability benefit to people and the tennis players.
