Abstract (EN)
With the deadly COVID-19 epidemic, which was first seen in China in December 2019 and spread globally in a short time, changes have occurred at both national and global levels. The fight against epidemics and the disaster management process, which can be described as a type of biological disaster that has confronted societies with various uncertainties throughout history, has pushed countries to produce policies on risk management and crisis management, both individually and globally. In the research, the COVID-19 pandemic, which affects societies socially, economically and politically, was discussed. In the analysis for the COVID-19 pandemic, the impact of the pandemic on the ongoing global health regimes is discussed; The role of the World Health Organization in the management and control of the global crisis caused by the pandemic has been examined. In the light of the findings obtained, inferences have been made about the changes that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused on the global health regimes that exist in practice. Accordingly, it has been seen that the role of the World Health Organization since the beginning of the global crisis is insufficient in stopping and controlling the pandemic. The limited influence of WHO in the management of the COVID-19 pandemic process indicates that the role of the organization in crisis management should be improved.
