The effect of continuous anxiety of international commerce students on career structuring process management

This study was conducted to examine the relationship between the anxiety levels of university students during their career construction processes and their career decisions. Within the scope of the research, possible effects of trait anxiety on career decisions during career construction periods in university students through the factors of conscious career, unconscious career, and environmental factors. 661 students who study in 2020-2021 participated in the research. Within the scope of the study, students of the International Trade (IT) the department was at the centre of the research, and data collected from the students studying at IT, IIBF, and an International University in Lithuania. Trait Anxiety Inventory (TAI) was used to determine anxiety levels of students, the Career Decision Scale (CDS) to measure career stability levels, and a personal information form created by the researcher to collect information about students; demographic characteristics. The findings obtained from the results of the research show similarities with the literature. In career configuration processes, career decisions and anxiety levels showed significant differences according to demographic characteristics such as gender and the departments they have studied. It was determined there is a significant relationship between the anxiety levels of the students and the sub-factors of a career decision, conscious career, unconscious career, and environmental factors.
