Analysis of award winning in the international Troia Festival Poster Design Contest according to graphic

This thesis includes "Award Winning Works in the International Troia Festival Poster Design Contest" between 2008-2017. The aim of the work is to examine the works awarded in the International Troia Festival Poster Design Contest for the past decade according to the graphic design principles and to emphasize the importance of graphic design principles in poster design applications. In addition, the research has been prepared to contribute to the design of graphic design principles as well as to the next competitor designer. In this context, the works that have been awarded in the International Troia Festival Poster Design Competition in the last decade have been examined through in-depth interviews and the opinions and thoughts about the works have been recorded by asking the questions about the works by the academicians in the field of graphic design and designers working in the graphic design sector. In the first part of the thesis; Graphic design, design, design features, communication, visual communication, graphic design principles and graphic design elements are mentioned. In the second part of the study; Poster design, poster 's requirements, communication and banners, historical development of poster art, the development of poster art in the world and Turkey, visual elements used in the poster design, elements of posters work, posters species and poster design techniques used, etc. subjects have been mentioned. The scope of the third and last part is a bit wider. In this section, the problem, purpose, importance, scope and limitations of the research, general definitions, method, general information about International Troia Festival and Competition and award winning poster designs are included. In the final section of the International Troia Festival Poster Design Competition, including the opinions of academicians and graphic designers about the award-winning works, the general critique of the competition is made and the opinions and suggestions are made. Considering the opinions of the academicians and the designers from the sector as a result of the research, it is seen that the majority of the poster designs examined are not suitable for graphic design principles and elements. In general, many images such as composition, typography, illustration and color were used incorrectly and incorrectly. Under the principles of graphic design, in the majority of posters, integrity, balance, hierarchy and highlighting have led to great problems in performing the function of the flyer by using faulty and ineffective.
