The discussions on the emancipation of the woman in the context of the nationalisation and the Turkish revolution

The process of nationalisation that started with the Trade Revolution in Europe and developed with the Industrial Revolution and gained political character through the Enlightenment brought along "democratic revolutions" and the establishment of nation-states, led to the questioning of the values belonging to the old forms of production and the transformation of the human into the individual by discovering the ability of using his/her own mind. The relationship between the individual and the state is defined by the bond of citizenship and the politicization of the human is accepted as a part of the process of human emancipation. In the first part of the study, the process of questioning the injustice and the inequality and developing the methods of struggle of the women who struggle in this liberation war together with the men but are excluded from citizenship is discussed. As a result of the readings, it is seen that the economic and political conditions developed with nationalisation create the basis for the advancement of this struggle initiated by women and at the end of the First Wave Feminism women have equal rights with men before the law. Therefore, even if the processes of nationalisation did not abolish patriarchy, that developed women's struggle for equality and freedom. The main body of the study is the changing position of women in the context of Turkish nationalization and the development of women's movement. The modernization process from the Tanzimat to the Republic was discussed in terms of the changing position of womanhood in society and before the law. In addition to the economic, political and socio-cultural changes that lead to social transformation, the role of the subjectivating women's movement has been demonstrated. During the Turkish nationalisation process, which is an important example to be examined in terms of the achievements of women's movement and women's gains, great changes and gains have occurred in women's struggle for freedom and equality.
