The study of Ulviye Alpay's works for children in terms of values education

The aim of this study is to analyze the works of Ulviye Alpay who has an important position in children's literature which have been written in terms of values education. This is a descriptive qualified research and was created by making use of document review method. In the analysis of data content analysis method has been used. The study material consists of 16 children's books by Ulviye Alpay. Works taken place in the study has been analyzed according to 14 values taken place in the social sciences curriculum and the 14 values taken place under the head of other values so totally 28 values. It was determined that how the have values analyzed in the works discussed and how often have they tackled and it has been analyzed that how will they going to be taken advantage of them. The study consists of 5 parts. In the first part, the part related to scientific research is included. In the second part, the method of the study is tackled. In the third part, definitions and explanations of concepts that includes the study are included. In the fourth part, evidences and comments which have been obtained in the study are included. In this part, first of all values taken place in the tales have been defined, later evidences which have been obtained from tales have been given with examples. Besides this data which has been obtained has been concreted by tabularizing. In the fifth part, results which were obtained in the study and suggestions has been included. It has been determined that as a result of the research in the studied works it has been determined that at the utmost love value fewest scientificness value have taken place. The love value is followed respectively honesty, friendship, conserving the cultural heritage, helpfulness, greeting, responsibility, mercy, respect, freedom, self reliance, benefacting, optimism, hospitality, aesthetics, patriotism, susceptibility, sedulity, solidarity and being kind. Fewest values have been taken place are respectively justice, courage, putting emphasis on family unity, empathy, alturism, cleanliness-health and being paticipative. According to the evidences which have been obtained it has been reached the end of that works of Ulviye Alpay are among the sources which will be taken advantage in the matter of values education.
