Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the melancholic phenomena in the poems of Ümit Yaşar Oğuzcan have been tried to be evaluated from different perspectives. The aforementioned poems include poems in the Şiir Denizi I-II, which contains the sum of the poems Oğuzcan gave from 1941 to 1982. The melancholic signifiers that were revealed from the Antiquity until the "Lost Object" oriented melancholy interpretation of psychoanalysis were tried to be evaluated with a phenomenological approach in Ümit Yaşar Oğuzcan's poems. In this context, the historical course of melancholia, the understanding of melancholy through psychoanalysis and the interpretations brought to this understanding are included. In addition to the melancholic appearances caused by object loss, melancholic moods and those who show place melancholic in the historical process are also included in the analysis. Since the determined theory is a text-centered approach, the reflections of Oğuzcan's personal life on poetry were not taken into account, while the melancholic signifiers in his poems were interpreted in a general context. Keywords: Melancholy, Lost Object, Ümit Yaşar Oğuzcan, Phenomenology.
