Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of the research is to reach university students' perceptions of crime and to analyze the subject within the framework of sociological theories and concepts. At the same time, it is to evaluate the relationship between society's perceptions of crime and university youth's perceptions of crime within various concepts. The first stage of our study consists of the conceptual framework in which the literature review is made, and the theoretical information is included. Within the conceptual framework, there is information about forensic sciences and forensic sociology, crime phenomenon, crime types and theories, criminology, general evaluation of institutions and concepts to explain criminal behavior. These evaluations were handled with a forensic sociological perspective. After the theoretical part, the methodology of the research is explained. In the applied part, the face-to-face survey method was used as a data collection tool, and the obtained data were analyzed and interpreted in the SPSS program. The questions of the questionnaire prepared to reach the perceptions of young people about crime consisted of 20 questions and were presented in print. The universe of the research consists of the students of Hitit University Faculty of Health Sciences. In the study conducted with the quantitative research model, our population was students studying at the Faculty of Health Sciences of Hitit University, and 280 people were determined as the sample group and enough was reached for the research. The opinion that the city and the places influence the formation of the crime was stated by the general participants. They stated that crime rates will decrease as the level of education increases. When evaluated in terms of various factors, most of the students stated that economic conditions, unemployment, and desolation were effective in dragging individuals into crime. Participants also agreed that alcohol and drug addiction drag individuals to crime. The opinion that factors such as family, peers and school are effective in the delinquency of individuals is also high among the participants. In addition, most of the compared criteria are of the opinion that the TV series and movies related to crime, the news watched and read have an impact on the increasing criminal behavior today. Participants think that the penal sanctions applied to reduce crime rates are not a deterrent. As a result, the data obtained from the theoretical study on the crime perception of the society in general and the opinions taken from university students have similar characteristics.
