Outline and main statement of the thesis is specified in the introduction part. Historical development of the universities is analyzed on chapter 2. While site selection decisions for university buildings are stated at chapter 3, planning and design criteria, transportations systems and settlement patterns of campuses are explained on 4th chapter in order to create a conceptual framework for the campuses which are semtinized at chapter 5. In the 5th chapter, 11 universities established in the last 10 years from seven different geographical regions of our country which have not completed their campus structure are semtinized in terms of relationship with the city, settlement pattern, land use, and transportation networks.
