Early maladaptive schemas, adult seperation anxiety and relationship obsession and compulsion symptoms on university students

Abstract (EN)

Aim of the research is examining relationship of early maladaptive schemas and adult seperation anxiety with relationship obsessive compulsive disorder. While examinin of the relationship between 3 subject, attachment theory is referred. Research sample is occured by university students. 160 university students participated to the research. Participants are 123 female and 37 male. Samples were reached by the internet. In order to obtatining research data, ''Consent Form'', ''Sociodemographic Information Form'', ''Young Schema Questionnarie Short Form-3'', '' Adult Seperation Anxiety Survey'' and ''Relationship Obsessions and Compulsions Inventory'' were used. By using SPSS program in the research; Spearman Correlation Analysis, Mann-Whitney U Test, Kruskal-Wallis Test and Jonckheere-Terpstra Tests were used to analyse datas. According to research results, statistically significant relationship was not found between unrelenting standarts/hypercriticalness, punitiveness and insufficient self-control/self-discipline which are lower dimensions of early maladaptive schemas and relationship obsessions and compulsions. Statistically significant relationship between other lower dimensions and relationship obsessions and compulsions. Statistically significant relationship was not found between adult seperation anxiety and lower dimensions of early maldaptive schemas. Additionally, statistically significant relationship was not found between adult seperation anxiety and relationship obsession and compulsions. According to examining of age variable, statistically significant was not found relationship between insufficient self-control/self-discipline and negativity/pessimism lower dimensions. Statistically significant relationship was not found between adult seperation anxiety and relationship obsession and compulsion. When examining gender variable, statistically significant relationship was not found between adult seperation anxiety, relationship obsession an compulsion and gender variable. When examining lower dimensions of early maladaptive schemas, males gets higher points on emotional depriation and punitiveness lower dimensions. Adult seperation anxiety has a statistically significant increase in relation to relationship satisfaction variable. It was determined that romantic relationship obsession and compulsions has a statistically significant increase in relationship duration variable and relationship satisfaction variable. Participants who have adult seperation anxiety diagnosis and participants who have seperation anxiety diagnosis in childhood may be chosen in future researches. Psychological effects of pandemic may be included as a new variable. Adult seperation anxiety are not related early maladaptive schemas and relationship obsession and compulsions. Insufficient self-control/self-discipline and negativity/pessimism lower dimensions of early maladaptive schemas are correlated negatively with age. Males have higher score interms of emotional depriation and punitiveness lower dimensions of early maladaptive schemas. Being seperated from their family before and romantic relationship satisfaction variables are found significantly with adult seperation anxiety. Gender groups is not found significantly. Education status, having education in the city which their families live, having psychiatric diagnosis, romantic relationship time and romantic relationship satisfaction variables are found significantly with relationship obssesions and compulsions. Gender groups and relationship obsessions and compulsions are not significat.
