Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to investigate the urban security perception of Hitit University students. The research explores the relationships between participants' demographic characteristics and their perceptions of urban identity, urban quality, and urban security. The scales used in the study include the "Urban Identity Scale," "Urban Quality Perception Scale," and "Urban Security Scale." Data collection involved questions directed at gathering demographic information and perceptions using the SPSS statistical analysis tool. Findings revealed that the participants' average age was 22.39 ± 3.51, with a significant correlation between age and urban identity scale. This correlation suggests that as students' age increases, they tend to carry a more centralized urban identity. Additionally, a significant relationship was found between the faculty where students belong and their positive perception of the city they live in, as indicated by the urban quality perception scale. However, no significant relationship was found between students' gender and their perception of urban security. The study's results emphasize the relationships between students' demographic characteristics and their perceptions, contributing to the more effective design of urban security policies and practices. In this context, the study serves as a valuable source of information for understanding and enhancing the perception of security in urban areas.
