Investigation of the relationship between university students' behavioral regulations in exercise, self-respect and leadership origins

Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of the research is; The aim of this study is to examine the relationships between behavioral regulations, self-esteem and leadership orientations of university students in exercise and to examine these data in terms of demographic variables. For this purpose, 428 students from the faculty of sports sciences were sampled. The relational survey model, which is one of the quantitative research models, was used in the research. Behavioral Regulations in Exercise Scale-2, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and Multidimensional Leadership Orientation Scale were used to collect data. Percentage and frequency distributions, Spearmen and Pearson Correlation Analysis, One-Way ANOVA, t-Test and Kruskal Wallis H test were used in the analysis of the data. Research results; While there was a statistically significant difference in gender, father's education level, active sports status, branch variables related to behavioral regulation in exercise variable, it was determined that there was a relationship between sports age and personal income variables. While a statistically significant difference was found only for the variable of education in the self-esteem variable, it was concluded that there was no relationship in the related variables. According to the data obtained regarding the leadership orientation variable, there was a statistically significant difference in class level, active sports status and branch variables, while there was a relationship in the age variable. According to the results of the correlation analysis between the variables, it was concluded that behavioral adjustments in exercise increased self-esteem and self-esteem increased leadership orientation.
