The effect of university students' self-efficiency on their perception of career adaptability

The aim of this thesis is to determine the relationship between university students' career decision self-efficacy and career adaptability. Within the scope of the relevant purpose, the basic research design was developed based on the relational screening model. The population of the research is state university students receiving formal education in Turkey, and convenience sampling technique was used based on the constraints of reaching the population. 350 university students (55.7% female, 44.3% male) who continued their formal education in the 2024-2025 academic year participated in the data collection process based on the online survey technique. In order to test the main hypotheses of the research, descriptive analysis, factor analyses, t-test, ANOVA and correlation and regression analyzes were used to reveal relational elements. IBM SPSS package program was used during the analysis processes. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that 68% of the students included in the research were between the ages of 21-23, while 83.7% of the students stated that they chose their department willingly and 85.7% declared that their preferred departments were compatible with their future career goals. has done. As a result of the comparison analyses, it was determined that the compatibility of the preferred department with the future career goal made a significant difference on career self-decision. As a result of the relational analyzes carried out within the scope of the study, it was determined that there was a statistically significant relationship between career decision self-efficacy and career adaptability and that career decision self-efficacy positively affected career adaptability.
