Abstract (EN)

Purpose: The main purpose of the research is to reveal the perceptions of gender inequality of senior teacher candidates at the faculty of education and to describe their experiences regarding the subject in family, school and society. Method: In this research, the phenomenology pattern, one of the qualitative re search designs, was used. The study group of the research consisted of senior teacher candidates at Uşak University Faculty of Education. In the research, a semi-structured interview form was prepared as a data collection method and the data was analyzed by content analysis. Findings: Based on the findings of the research, four main themes were created. These are 'being a woman in the system of exploitation', 'forms of reinforcement of heg emonic masculinity', 'gender inequality in the context of educational institutions' and 'the role of gender in career choice'. While senior teacher candidates at the Faculty of Educa tion generally oppose inequality based on gender roles, they do not believe that gender based inequality can be completely eliminated in our country. Although prospective teachers speak out against inequality in family life and social life, they do not display an egalitarian view on gender-based career choice. Conclusion and Recommendations: As a result of the research; It has been sug gested that their awareness of the concepts of gender-gender inequality and discrimina tion should be increased, especially in educational institutions, that they should take courses on the concepts of discrimination and inequality during vocational training in education faculties.
