The femininity and the masculinity roles shows variety according to the societies cultures and habitude. The notion of gender roles is a concept that the society attributes to individuals. The concept of the family, on the other hand, is a conception which includes individuals who has kindredship become units. The family, which is the smallest but the most significant part of the society, is one of the factors that effects gender roles in society. As for the other factors, we can see that; the media, culture and education also have a great impact on the gender roles in society. Since the family is the first place where an individual adapts to the values and culture to which he/she belongs, the place of the family in the gender role is very important. The benefits of the modern era and changing family structures have created different ways of thinking thereamong young people. Individuals have changed their thoughts about gender roles, which they have learned with the family since the moment they were born, with the influence of education and the environment over time. Gender roles studies have gained importance recently and these studies have just started to increase. The aim of the study is to examine the family's influence on attitudes concerning the societal gender roles of university students. In the study, the sample was preferred to students at the university. Comments have been made based on the findings of the matter. Behavior patterns that influence much of students' lives are largely determined by their educational lives. Individuals begin to determine behavioral patterns, perspectives, in this period of their lives. By choosing a quantitative method of research, a survey of 43 questions has been applied to the student group calculated as a sample. The results have been analyzed with the SPSS system. When the results are reached at the end of the study, the students appear to have family influence over them. College-educated individuals have been found to develop their own way of life and mindset based on the returns of their age. Also, it has been concluded that individuals have different ideas than their families. With industrialization and migrations from the countryside to the city, there is a change in family structure. Large families were replaced by nuclear families. Most of the students who participated in the study were provincial-born students. The elemantry family structure and large city impact are shown as a result of the survey, which also found that students' family structures have changed. The students and families involved in the study are found to have equalitarian views. Hereunder, this study is expected to contribute to the study of gender and family de velopment. The scope of the study can be extended further, and applied at different educational levels. Keywords: Family, societal gender, gender roles, university student.
