Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between university students' xenophobia attitudes and their empathic tendencies. The present study was designed with the relational research model, one of the quantitative research models. A total of 309 university students studying at different universities participated in the study group of the research. In the study, descriptive statistical methods were applied in the analysis of the data. Before proceeding with the analysis of the data, the normality analysis was performed for the data. As the skewness and kurtosis values were in accordance with the values in the literature, non-parametric statistical methods were applied to the data. The Man Whitney u test was used to compare two independent variables, and the Kruskal Wallis test was used to compare more than two independent variables. The relationships between the scales used in the research were tested with the Spearman correlation test. As a result, it can be said that there is a positive and significant relationship between university students' xenophobia attitudes and their empathic tendencies (p<0.01).
