Abstract (EN)

Financial exclusion occurs when individuals cannot access, use or do not want to use financial products and services that meet their social needs due to demographic, technological and social factors etc. In this thesis, financial exclusion was examined under four headings as bank exclusion, credit exclusion, savings exclusion and insurance exclusion. Determining the financial products needed by young women, providing access to these products, and finding barriers to access and usage are within the scope of the research. The exclusion level of female students was measured and the relationship between exclusion and gender was examined by taking a sample of Anadolu University students. As a result of the literature review, a questionnaire form which is accepted in terms of validity and reliability was used by adapted to the conditions of Turkey. For the data sets, descriptive statistics and frequency were presented with the help of SPSS software. Among the descriptive analysis methods, cross-table and chi-square analysis were preferred. Apart from savings, it was concluded that female students' usage of financial products and services is lower than male students. The fact that the income level of female students is lower than that of men has emerged as an important factor that increases the level of financial exclusion. It is foreseen that this study will serve as a basis for future research on financial exclusion, and after presenting the obstacles to the inclusion of young women in the financial system; it will propose solutions to this problem and offer significant value to the academic world of our country.
