Abstract (EN)
After long efforts, women have been able to enter the paid work field. In their social environment, women are exposed to gender inequality in working life and family environment. The aim of the thesis is to examine the attitudes of the staff at a certain education level working at the university regarding this inequality. In the case of Çankırı Karatekin University, the attitudes of the university staff toward gender roles were evaluated with questionnaires consisting of two parts. In the descriptive study, 250 administrative and academic staff at Çankırı Karatekin University participated. In the first part, which includes sociodemographic questions, most of those who agreed to participate in the study were the academic staff. The city was the place where 70,8 % of the participants spent most of their lives. It has been determined that 80.8% of those who were in managerial positions at the university were male and 19.2% were female administrators. According to this result, it is thought that investigating the obstacles in women's making managerial career is or why they cannot pursue a managerial career is necessary. It is possible to say that roles such as pregnancy and child care stand as an obstacle to the career of every woman. In the current study, the chi-square significance test has been applied according to the variables of gender, educational status, and working status of the mother. It has been determined that the majority of the participants are sensitive to gender equality attitudes according to gender and educational status. It has determined that the working status of the mother did not have any effect on the attitudes of the participants toward affecting gender equality. Most of the studies on gender attitudes in the literature have been conducted with university students. While the effect of maternal employment status on sexist attitudes was found to be positive or negative in participants between the ages of 18-30, it is not significant in the current study. In the current study, it has determined that the working status of the mother did not affect the gender perceptions of the participants, since they worked with individuals with a high academic career and over a certain age.
