Bicycle transportation in university campusesinfrastructure planning: Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University case ofTaşliçiftlik Campus

The aim of this study is to determine the benefits of transportation by bicycle which is a sub-branch of urban transportation. For this purpose, general information about transportation, definition of transportation and general information about transportation types, transportation in the city, types of transportation in the city, transportation problems in the city and solutions for these problems, sustainability, sustainable development, sustainable transportation and their relations are mentioned. As a sub-branch of road transportation, the benefits and infrastructure of bicycle transportation, the problems encountered in bicycle transportation, the reasons for emergence and the solutions to these problems were evaluated. European Union bicycle policies, transportation practices in the world and in our country are compared, in the light of current conditions and regulations; Sustainable bicycle transportation is presented as an alternative transportation system, especially in the solution of urban transportation problems. In this context, at the end of the study, a Bike Path Route Study was prepared at the Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Taşlıçiftlik Campus. In the study, the cross sections of the bicycle paths, the locations of the bicycle parking stations, the visuals and the approximate cost scale of the project are given in the study.
