Inscriptions and reliefs are informative source of the "Urartion Religion" Urartian religion was politheist. There were seventy-nine gods in Urartian pantheon according to Meher Kapi's inscription. Gods have got a hierarchy. There were sort and number of the sacrifice in that list. Those were presents for gods. Haldi, Teşeba, Şivini were most important gods of the Urartian pantheon. Haldi is a national god and his holy animal symbol was lion. Haldi was warrior god. Teşeba is the god of the storm. His holy symbol is bull. Şivini was the god of the sun. His symbol was winged solar disc. Urartian Religion had animistic and totemistic character. Everything was done for Haldi in Urartian country. Urartian temples had square planned. Cella which is the most important part of the temple. Urartians would worship in the rocky, graveyard, forest ect. Instead of temple. They presented food and drink for their gods out of animals. One of the mostly used descriptions in Urartian pictures was the holy tree. The holy tree symbolized immortality and renewing. There were two types of burials in the Urartian traditions. They ere 1) inhumation and 2) ceremation. Urartian religion was effected by Hurri, Hitit andVI Assur. Urartians bring the disperesed clans together. They formed a pantheon by clans' gods. This pantheon became the "formal pantheon" of the Urartian state Urartian nation returned their old religion at the end of Urartian State. This condition can be observed from the Giyimli (Hırkanis) bronze sign's pictures.
